During my Internet time this week, I found three awesome pieces that really exemplify thriving with disability. 

The first is a kid who does what he calls “hardcore sitting.”  He has spina bifida and uses his manual chair to do adapted skateboarding tricks.  This dude rocks!  Check out the awesome video here!

Next is an article about a film that just debuted at Sundance last Saturday.  It stars Christopher Thornton, a paraplegic and Mark Ruffalo, who had  a brain tumor recently.  The article is great, save for the author’s use of the term “handicapped.”  Check it out here!

Finally, Laura Hershey, disability activist/writer/poet extraordinaire wrote an awesome piece on women, disability, and poetry.  Check it out here!  I couldn’t agree with her more!
